We deliver precision learning experiences to match students’ academic profiles and dreams of admission to highly selective schools. We do this by investing in students, families, and communities.

Vision

We invest in people: tutors, students, families, schools, and community. People and learning is the heart of what we do, and learning is worth investing in. Therefore, we’re called Invested Learning.

In addition, with the uncertainty of canceled admissions tests and test-optional admissions, students and parents need more than just test prep. Grades, essays, and distinctive experiences will be crucial. Finally, parents will need expertise in deeper learning and need cross-curricular academic expertise, especially because we forecast that K-12 schools will incorporate some remote learning in the fall. Learning will be as important as testing.

Learning-focused

We don’t sell tutoring packages, because that focuses on the teaching provided, not the learning each student needs.  Similarly, we do a lot of test prep, but that’s just one kind of learning.  So we keep all our tutoring and test prep done in the service of deep learning. Deep learning is, ultimately, a driver of successful testing experiences.

Investment-driven

Tutoring can seem transactional—like paying for score increases—but that  mindset is opposed to deep learning. Investment is a better metaphor. Investments are long-term commitments and produce dividends more meaningful—and financially rewarding—results than  transactions. Ultimately, investing in learning can deliver scholarship money and admittance to elite universities. Even more, these investments deliver in unexpected ways: our tutors are not just content deliverers but also role models and mentors. That happens because our tutors are invested in their students. That doesn’t happen in a transactional model.

Local

We’re focused on Cleveland-area students, but we don’t expect them to stay here. We want to launch them to great universities.  We invest in our Cleveland community and build relationships with our students’ schools and neighborhoods.  Knowing their teachers, schools, and environments helps us convert that capital into learning returns.

Relationship-driven

Our success comes from tutors  knowledgeable in both pedagogy and content, and their high quality relationships with students, not with secret test formulas to memorize.  There’s plenty of test prep books out there. But our relationship-driven approach draws out the best in students, and helps them persist through struggles.

Family-oriented

We work with parents and students together, knowing that each has their own needs.  Parents are investing their money and their kids’ futures, kids are investing their time and their energy.  Our tutors invest their work, time, and energy so that both parents and students realize return on the investment.
