ACT, SAT, and PSAT

We build relationships and inspire success.

ACT

This 2-hour 55-minute test includes four scores: English, Math, Reading, and Science, all scored on a scale of 1-36. The Essay section is optional and less important for college admissions than the composite score. For the first time, students in September 2020 will be able to retest one section at a time to build the highest possible superscore. We’ll help you prep for the whole test or a specific section, whichever builds your academic profile.  Superscoring and section retesting make this test a great fit for lots of test takers.  Juniors often begin preparing for this test a few months ahead of their test date.

PSAT

Taken by all juniors, this 2-hour 45-minute test is the gateway to National Merit recognition. It’s also a stepping stone to the SAT, and both tests are scored on the same scale.   The score report includes a National Merit Qualifying score and a PSAT score. Juniors often begin preparing in the summer before the October test.

SAT

This 3-hour test includes two scores: Evidence-Based Reading & Writing section, and Math section, each on a scale of 200-800, and a composite score on a scale of 400-1600. The Essay section is optional and less important for college admissions than the composite score. You cannot retake parts of the test, but the SAT does give more time per question than the ACT, so for who students who need extra time, it can be a great choice. Juniors often begin preparing for this test a few months ahead of their test date.
